Any title will be completely irrelevant.. I should just leave you bare
Oh Blog, how I have neglected you for so long.
It’s only because I have been rather busy! I have all these other social media networks to tend to ya see. There’s facebook, my own twitter account, plus two more twitters for my work at BeTrendMe! (Shameless plug to @BeTrendMe! @BTMinterns, and @BTMontheBLVD!) And also writing articles for The Broken Heel Diaries!
Needless to say, it is not because I do not love you. I know that I said this the last time we took some time off, this time it’s different. Honest.
I promise to be devoted to you dear blog, even on the days I feel busiest. Even if it’s a small picture here, or a quote there. I promise to send some TLC your way.
So today I bring to you two completely unrelated tales and updates.
Today marks the day I am attempting the 30 Day Shred challenge YET again. I am already a Shred victor, however in the past months I have let my weight lighting and cardio slide. I have been an avid yogi though! Not to worry, I have become far from a couch potato slump. I just lacked the energy to be out running and weight training. Yoga has been rather calming, and fit nicely into my schedule. (Another shameless plug goes out to my fav studio Kula in Oakville! I love love LOVE Joanne, and try to make it to her Wednesday class every week. But if I miss out, I get to redeem myself with her 10am Saturday class, which I am attending tomorrow. SO excited). ANYhow, my plugs are getting me off topic. I have restarted the Shred. I have had this on my mind for the past week, and have been setting my alarm early to do it before work, but sadly I just couldn’t muster the thought of NOT hitting my snooze button for an hour. But today was the day! I finally jumped into my workout gear and was ready to go. Well. OW. That’s what I have to say. How come it’s harder this time around? Yikes. I’m just going to tell myself it was due to waking up and exercising without breakfast. I’m certainly not WEAK, yoga definitely sculpts and tones the body good, but they are different muscles. So man, I have to say, the minimal amount of stairs I had to endure today were no fun! (Why did I think it was a smart idea to wear heels!!) Tomorrow is another day, and I am quite excited to continue with the Shred journey. I feel healthier than ever and while I may want to ‘phone it in’ and kick my dear Jillian in the face, I will persevere!
Okay so on another completely different note, a few months back I really wanted to get into reading a ton of classics. I feel as if I was jipped in High School, as I never read so many of the books I heard all my classmates discuss. I don’t know if I had lazy teachers or just selective ones, but I missed out on so many gems. Animal Farm. Tuesday’s With Morrie. Catcher in the Rye. Heart of Darkness. 1984. The Illiad and the Odyssey! There are seriously so many. I decided to try to compile several lists that I found titled something like “The 100 Books you absolutely must read in you lifetime. Otherwise you are a total ninny!” Alright, obviously not that full title, but I do feel like a bit of a ninny for never having read Hamlet, or the Twelfth Night! So I went on my merry way and started compiling. Well, it seems none of these so called ‘reading experts’ conversed on the best books, because I have found myself with a list of over 350 books!!! Geez-us. I’m not saying I’m going to tackle every single book listed, but I do want to hammer out a lot of them. I love reading, and I take pleasure in reading a book while on the GoTrain and subway while commuting to work rather than listening to music, fiddling my thumbs, or reading celebrity gossip.
Since starting my list I have finished three books, and I am halfway through my fourth. I started with 1984, then went onto The Lovely Bones, and then Animal Farm. All GREAT reads, but all so dreary! Well I certainly didn’t break the trend as I am now working through Catcher in the Rye. I’m not sure if I come off looking scholarly, or very depressing!! HAH! Anyhow, I purchased ‘One Day’ as well, and planned on reading it next due to many recommendations, but I hear IT is also sad! Oi Vey!
Last weekend a few friends tossed around the idea of a book club. I’m not sure how serious they are but I LOVE the idea! Seriously, over 350 book suggestions!!! haha
Okay, that’s all for now. I promise to return dear blog. I swear!
xoxo
